We Need Immediate Climate Action at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport

Demands

  1. Protect the Chamberlin Neighborhood and allow for restoration of demolished housing.

    1. Do not expand airport operations beyond the present location of the airport security fence.

    2. Preserve the 44 acres of former housing lots for future housing. Do not rezone the land for commercial or industrial development.

  2. Count and reduce aviation emissions.

    1. Count all aviation emissions from takeoff to landing, including emissions from commercial aircraft, small planes, and military aircraft, including the CO2 and non-CO2 heating effects of aviation.

    2. Ban private jets and end luxury emissions.

    3. Reduce all aviation emissions by 50% from 2023 levels by 2030.
